Published Reports

Reporting is a critical piece of our client's portfolio monitoring workflow. You asked for a way to centralize the storing and sharing of finalized reports and we heard your feedback.

We introduced this as a way for clients to store, organize, and share their finalized reports within Cobalt.

  • New Reports section

    • Live Reports can be published individually or in bulk.

    • All published reports are stored as PDFs in Cobalt.

    • Users can create folders to logically group their published reports so that they are easily accessible.

    • Users can share published reports with the relevant stakeholders.

    • Users can download individual published reports or multiple published reports.

  • Sharing of published reports

    • You can seamlessly share a single published report or multiple published reports with your stakeholders.

    • Report publishers can easily request access on the behalf of the other users they want to share the report with.

    • The system sends an email notifying the users that a report has been shared with them so that they know the final reports are available!

Single sharing of a published report

  • Bulk roll forward dates for reports while publishing

    • Report publishers can easily roll-forward the dates of a single report or multiple reports at once.

    • Want to roll forward AND publish the reports in one go? That feature is now available too!

Live Reports

We also enhanced the way report editors share Live Reports with other report editors so that sharing reports and requesting access to the relevant entities are handled in a single workflow.

  • Easy Collaboration while building Live Reports

    • Bulk management of editors on live reports so that one or multiple editors can be added to the report(s) along with proper permissions

    • Report Owners can easily request access on the behalf of the other users they want to share the report with

    • The system sends an email notifying the users that they have been added as an editor to a report, this way they can directly access the report and start working!

Ownership Structure

Clients can currently track key details about the deals they have invested in, which is part of a larger set of data tied to an investment’s ownership structure. Now, the clients will be able to track similar data for all other investors in each deal so that they can provide complete reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Track outside investors in a deal

    • Users can create outside investors and store metrics for them in each deal so that the investment's full ownership structure can be tracked.

    • Users can easily view the key deal metrics for their own investments, for just the outside investors, or all investors at once.

  • Build your cap table in your tearsheets

    • Data can now be filtered and grouped by outside investors and rounds to provide reporting of the entire ownership structure of a company.

Reporting & Dashboards

  • A new array of colors for dashboards so that you can clearly distinguish different series on your graphs.

  • We have introduced a new "Empty Cell Display" option so that users can decide whether empty cells in tables should display as blank or "-".

  • We have added the "Nunito" font to our font library in Reporting.

  • Roll forward for operating metrics is now available in reporting and dashboards. When selected, the checkbox under "Value Settings" will pull the most recently available value for an operating metric if there is no metric available on this date.

Currency Settings

  • Entity currency now takes precedence as a default currency, then client currency, then USD while displaying data in dashboards so that our clients don't have to set the currency at the component level individually.

  • Deals can now be filtered by using the company UID in order to reproduce the "deals" view from the investments page.

Bug Fixes

  • Users can now easily hide gridlines in the manual table for better formatting in the reports.

  • The logic to display dates in the column headers in the tables now displays the correct dates when metrics of different timeframes are selected.
